The class will cover the Scriptures, the History of the Episcopal Church, the Outline of the Faith, the Sacraments of the Church and their meaning, The Book of Common Prayer, Basic Theology, the Anglican Communion, and any questions which you may have.

If you are interested in attending, please speak with the Rector or call the church office.

LENTEN PRAYER PRACTICE

Many of us wish to strengthen our personal prayer life during Lent but are unsure how to begin. One way would be to take home with you each week the prayer requests found on the colored sheet in your weekly service bulletin, and join the members of the St. Thomas’ Prayer Ministry by including those requests in your daily prayers.

LOOKING AHEAD TO HOLY WEEK AND EASTER

The most solemn week of the church year begins on Palm Sunday, March 16. Services that weekend will be at the regular times, and palms will be distributed at all liturgies.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Holy Week, A Holy Week Journey, special half-hour devotional services tracing the events leading up to Christ’s crucifixion, will be held in the choir stalls each evening at 7:00.

On Maundy Thursday, March 20 at 6:00 p.m. we will share a simple supper, and then celebrate the Eucharist around tables in the lower hall.

Good Friday services include the Stations of the Cross at Our Lady of Lourdes at 12:00 noon; a special Children’s Stations of the Cross at St. Thomas’ at 5:00 p.m.; and the service of Tenebrae with music by the St. Thomas’ choir at 7:30 p.m.

Services on Easter Sunday, April 8, are at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Incense will be used at the 11:00 liturgy. A brass quintet prelude precedes both services.
